The best Fun Experiments for Kids with Water
Do you imagine how fun it would be doing science experiments with water together with your little ones? Take a look at these ones!
It floats or sinks?
You will need:
- A bucket or basin
- Plastic toys, or plastic cups with different shapes.
So, fill a bucket with water. Then put in there the toys. You will see that some of them will float, and others will sink. Some of them will also return to the surface even when they were completely submerged. In this case, these objects prove that they are less dense than water.
With this fun experiments for kids, you will understand that not only the weight of the objects interfere but also their shape and the volume of water they displace in contact with water.
How to clean water?
The main goal is to know the processes of treatment and obtainment of pure water.
You will need:
- Water jar
- Soil and dry leaves
- 2 liters Bottle
- Small stones
So, what you are going to do is put soil and dry leaves in the water jar (this water will represent the water collected in the rivers and lakes). Then pick up the bottle and cut it in the middle. On the part of the bottleneck, put the cotton ball and close the bottleneck. Then you will put some small stones over the cotton and cover with sand.
Now you will slowly pour the “dirty” water into the bottle, causing it to pass through the sand. Finally, compare the water before and after the filter action. Aren’t they fun experiments for kids? Let’s see another great experiment.
The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate the surface tension of water.
You will need:
- Piece of paper with 5×2 cm with his shape
Fill the basin with water. Then place the paper over water, so it would be floating on the surface. Pour a drop of detergent in the rectangular opening and observe what happens to the boat. It will move because the drop of detergent breaks the surface tension of water, moving what is on the surface
Aren’t they spectacular? Enjoy this weekend and spend time with your child and play a lot with water. They like and it is always a wonderful way to they learn. Also, be sure to explain the importance of saving water of our planet, and explain the importance of not polluting the water that is so precious to our lives.
